W. Martin Nicholas


Martin has a willingness to follow where God directs, a passion for sharing God’s love with others and a vision for the church’s engagement in the world.
He attended Henderson University and Southern Methodist University, with post graduate studies at Boston University.

Martin is active in the Sugar Land community and serves on several city task forces, the Sugar Land Heritage Foundation and the board of Sugar Land Methodist Hospital. He serves on the board of United Theological Seminary and is also active in the renewal and reform efforts in the United Methodist Church.

Martin is married to Pat, his childhood sweetheart and a registered nurse, and they have two children and three grandchildren. In his spare time, he and Pat love to travel the world, admiring beautiful architecture and walking through every museum they can find. Martin is also a foodie and can cook an amazing pork loin and jalapeno cheese grits.
